Option to Update New Member Welcome Message
richard • 9 August 2021
consider updating the message that is sent out to your new members when they sign up to be a new member, or when you RE-invite them into your members area.
It's always a good idea to revisit the new members welcome message that is sent from your Chamber Nation system to new members and those you have re-invited into your members area. When you make this change using our welcome message editor, future outgoing messages will be automated and mail merged for each new member. Your support team will be happy to make this change for you or we can show you how to manage this.
Here is an idea on what you might consider adding to your welcome message. In this example it is almost a checklist of what you will want new members to do. Your list would be different!
Dear (Member Name),
Let me be among the first to welcome you as the newest member of (Chamber Name)! Our organization is focused on the long-term, sustainable growth of the (City/County/Region name) area, and our voice gets stronger with every new member that joins us. With your help, we will continue to work on behalf of the business community and we will continue to protect the rights of business owners throughout the region.
I want to ensure that you are taking full advantage of every opportunity the Chamber presents you as a new member. To that end, here is a very simple list of “first steps” I’d like to encourage you to take. They are very simple and will take just a few minutes of your time, but they will help you get the absolute most out of your membership. Ready to get started?
Sincerely,
(Executive’s Name and contact info)

- Visit (insert link to customization of CN page) to (insert CN’s language about customization, why it’s important, etc). We know that this is a HUGE benefit to you as a member, so we made it the very first thing on your list!
- ##MEMBER_REP_FIRST_NAME## ##MEMBER_REP_LAST_NAME## will be contacting you in the next few days to see how you’re getting along. If you have any questions about your membership or how to maximize it, be sure and ask ##MEMBER_REP_FIRST_NAME## at that time. I’m attaching contact information for ##MEMBER_REP_FIRST_NAME## just in case you need it before then.
- Be on the lookout for your new member onboarding and completion notification email for your new catalog, mobile app, prospect texting service, and much more from (org name).
- Plan on attending your new member orientation session. An invitation will be sent to you, but you can add (date, time, location) to your calendar now. This session is designed to educate you on every working aspect of YOUR Chamber of Commerce and to help you begin to understand clearly just what benefits will be valuable to you and your business.
- Take a few minutes to go through our online membership directory (provide the link) and write down the names of 15-20 business-owners or businesses to whom you’d like personal introductions. It would be our pleasure to help connect you to other members whenever possible. Share that list with ##MEMBER_REP_FIRST_NAME## and we’ll see what we can do to arrange some introductions.
- Don’t forget to look over our list of committees (Insert link). We would love to know which committee or committees you might have an interest in. Not every committee has immediate room for new members, but we will make every effort to ensure that you are involved in the areas which most interest you.
- Catch your breath!!!!
- I’m attaching a link to our EVENTS PAGE (insert link). Please share this with your staff as we’d LOVE to meet more of the folks who make your business what it is today. In fact, if you’ll share their email addresses with ##MEMBER_REP_FIRST_NAME## ##MEMBER_REP_LAST_NAME##, we’ll make sure they receive regular updates from us as well. We invite you and your staff to take part in those events that interest you either as an attendee, a volunteer, or even as a host or sponsor!
- Last, but certainly not least, I want to invite you to contact me directly if there is anything at all that we as a Chamber can do to help support your efforts or those of your business. My contact information is below, and I look forward to hearing from you at any time.
(Member Name), thanks again for joining the (Chamber name). We look forward to partnering with you to grow your business…and our Chamber…for many years to come.
Sincerely,
(Executive’s Name and contact info)

We're heading to New Orleans! Our team will be at the ACCE Convention, July 20-22, and we're bringing MMS 2.0 and Pippily along with us. If you're a chamber or association manager, this is your sign to come say hi. We build for one reason: Building Stronger Chambers. Powering Stronger Communities. We exist to make your day-to-day easier, whether that's managing member renewals, tracking engagement, or showing your board the value you're creating. We'd love to show you what's new. Leading the charge for us on the ground is Pria Vijayaratnam, our Director for Enterprise Growth. Here's a note from her: Whether you're a longtime Chamber Nation member, exploring MMS 2.0, or just curious about what Pippily can do for your chamber's member engagement, I'd be happy to walk you through what's new — no slides, no pressure, just a real conversation. If you're planning to be at ACCE, I'd love to set aside 20–30 minutes to meet one-on-one. — Pria Vijayaratnam, Director of Enterprise Growth So if you'll be at ACCE26, find us. Say hello — we'd genuinely love to meet you and talk about how we can support what you're building. See you in New Orleans!
