How to Build Silent Auction Using Forms Builder and Website

Richard Scully • July 20, 2020

Easily create a silent auction using your Chamber Nation system.

Chamber Auction
Many Chambers of Commerce are looking to setup silent auctions especially when we are practicing social distancing like in mid 2020. A way to do this is by leveraging your Chamber Nation system and your website.

First thing you want to do is create an "Auction" page within your website. It would consist primarily photos of the items you will be auctioning off. The lay out should be 3 columns wide, and you should be sure the photos are sized the same so the final website page looks attractive. Once your auction form is built you will place that under your photos to accept bids.

If you need Chamber Nation support please let us know as we are here to always help you.

The second thing to do is to create a "form" within your "Forms Builder" for each item. This is a simple form to accept bids up until the time stamp of the last allowed auction.

Each form will have collected all of the bids leaving you with the highest bid within thee allowed bidding window.

The form builder should be setup with the following settings:
  1. Form name is the NAME OF THE ITEM BEING AUCTIONED OFF
  2. Description describing the item unless you already have that built into the website with photos
  3. Email going to the auction manager (chamber representative)
  4. Start date and end date of the auction
  5. Click NAME/EMAIL box
  6. Click CAPTCHA box
  7. Click STORE RESPONSES box
  8. Be sure to put in the URL back to the auction page (so people can go back and bid on more items)
  9. Next page ADD QUESTION (Text Field) for PHONE NUMBER
  10. ADD QUESTION text field for their ENTER BID AMOUNT
  11. Now be sure to get the LINK FOR THIS FORM and add it under the photo on your auction website page.

Repeat this QUICK PROCESS for each auction item and you will be ready to go.
